Uploading pictures to photo communities or social networking sites isn’t actually as easy as it seems at first glance. You’ve got to select your pictures, log in to Facebook, open your Flickr account and maybe even try to load them all onto Picasa to share. Seem complicated? Most definitely! PicPush can automatically publish your snapshots online without any extra work. Obviously, you have to configure your app before you can start using it. PicPush is best suited for people that are registered in the following communities:
- Picasa
- facebook
- flickr
- Gallery
- photobucket
- shutterfly
- SmugMug
The cool thing about PicPush is that it doesn’t simply upload random pictures, but lets you select which pictures and/or folders should by synchronized with every photo service. This feature is called Auto Scanner and works like a charm. If you select only one folder to be synchronized, all pictures that get put in that folder are automatically uploaded to the respective community. Auto Scanner also detects whether there are any new pictures since the last synchronization. The whole shebang works perfectly with pictures as well as videos. The Auto Scanner feature is located in your preferences tab. Here you’ll find an option that lets you delay uploading for a certain time. This can be useful if you have snapped quite a few pictures, but would only like to upload one of them or sort them all out before hand.
When connecting PicPush to Facebook, for example, you are redirected to the Facebook page by the app. Here you have to enter in your entire log in information. In the end, you receive a one-time code that you have to use with PicPush. This way PicPush is always connected to your Facebook without saving any of your Facebook login information.
Synchronization with Picasa is a bit easier. All you have to do is log into your Picasa account. Once you’ve done that, PicPush automatically remembers that information and can initiate the upload process.
When setting up your different accounts, you can select whether you’d like to upload your pictures to a certain folder or create a new one for your PicPush Uploads.
Our test picture was uploaded to the correct folder without any problem with both Picasa and Facebook.
Your accounts tab gives you a nice overview of your accounts. With a tap on the green icon next to the community name, you can disable the uploading feature.
In options, you can determine which uploaded pictures should be made public or remain private.
Bottom Line:
PicPush makes managing your pictures way easier. To fully appreciate this app, you’ve really got to be a photo-sharing buff. For the occasional upload this app may be a tad to complicated to use.
Turn off: Once a picture is in the process of being uploaded, the upload cannot be canceled. I accidentally placed the wrong picture in the upload folder and had to wait for the upload to be completed before I could delete it.
Another thing that bothered me a bit is that you cannot upload any picture from a file manager. The feature just simply isn’t there. You can only use pictures that you’ve placed in the sync folder. What a disappointment!
Depending on the picture size, I recommend you use a fast data connection or Wi-Fi when uploading your photos.

I have no idea what issues others can have with this program. Works flawlessly on my Moto Milestone.
I would suggest that developer adds "upload when connected to WiFi only" selection.
