Zipwhip brings your text messaging (SMS / MMS) to the cloud so that you can send and receive texts using your existing mobile number via the Zipwhip desktop app (Windows/Mac/Linux), web app, or Android tablet app.After you install Zipwhip on your phone, be sure to visit http://www.zipwhip.com to register and download the desktop app.
Zipwhip is a free service that runs in the background on your phone. It uses your existing data and messaging plan that you have through your wireless service provider.

DO NOT INSTALL Unless you want your contacts to be spammed with "sent via zipwhip" every time you send a text. Use mighty text instead.

Doesn't work Does not work on Samsung Vibrant T-959 T-Mobile. Followed all procedures and registration but stuck on being disconnected even though it says service is running. Retried it multiple times with no success. Horrible online support/troubleshoot.

Useful Very useful. I get to see my texts when I'm on my tablet, but...definitely needs a widget or something to notify you when texts come in.

BRILLIANCE Super great app, working on the pc and it came in quite handy for when my phone was charging, some notifications came in Lil late but I'm sticking with this one, replaced tablet talk

Great texting app This is by far the most polished SMS to desktop solution out there. It's easy to use and the user interface is pretty dang clean. Good stuff.

A very useful app! I'm 61 and to be honest it was hard transitioning from a cheap flip phone to a smartphone. I seldomly texted before, but this app has changed everything. I now text my daughter and wife like crazy! The wonderful thing is it's so easy to use, reliable and anyone of any age (especially an old gent like me) can use it everyday. Thank you Zipwhip!

Desktop App Is Excellent! Frees me up from having to switch back and forth between phone and laptop. Really saves time and energy! It could use a few more bells and whistles on the desktop but still an excellent app!

Finally texting is not stuck in my phone! Texting is my preferred communication medium, but I hate fumbling around on my phone's soft keyboard. This app along with Zipwhip's web and desktop apps solve this in an easy to use way. I get my text coming into my laptop and I can reply right there! Sweet.
