Description
VLC HD Remote is a free app for using your Android device as remote control for all versions of the VLC video player, including VLC 2.0.VLC HD Remote is a high quality app, easy to use and offers all features one could expect of a VLC remote, such as VLC playlists and DVD controls.
There are two features that can be unlocked with "VLC HD Remote Pro Unlocker" http://goo.gl/lg53b that can be tested:
(1) Streaming from VLC to Android devices
(2) Streaming from Android devices to VLC

Notes on compatibility:
VLC 2.0.1 (NOT recommended):
- Remote control features work.
- This version has a bug with the h.264 encoder, which causes streaming to fail.
VLC 2.0.0:
- Remote control features work.
- Streaming works. Legacy mode does not work.
- Note all steps in the help: If streaming stops after 60 seconds, adjust the RTSP session timeout in VLC's settings to "-1" as the help suggests.
- Subtitles for streams have rendering problems. Either try VLC 1.1.11, or as workaround change width and height to "1" in the stream preferences.
VLC 1.1.11:
- Remote control features work.
- Both legacy mode and normal streaming works.
- Due to a bug in this version of VLC, DVD controls need changes to a file of VLC. Refer to the in-app help for more information.

Crap...total crap... If you want a remote for vlc this is for you...if you want to stream from ANY version of vlc then don't bother with this app..It's a total waste.. spent several hours trying to get it to work on 4 tablets and 2 phones...And no joy even tried 3 vesions of vlc...It's total crap....stay clear...would not have given stars if not for fact had to to review it...

Great App for VLC 1.x It is simply the best in control and streaming thats for sure. Couldnt manage to make the streaming work on VLC 2.0 so I rolled back to 1.1.9.. It works great. Hope it will also work with vlc 2 in the future.

Great but vlc 2.x buggy Vlc 2.x has a known bug with streaming mp4. It is under debugging. V1.11 streams perfect
