What's New
In short:
* New feature: Import ICS-files (event invitations attached to e-mails) to calendars.
* Quite a few bug-fixes.
Time flys and unfortunately there was not much left to properly support ICSSync. We're really sorry for that!
However, we managed to address most reported issues and come up with a new feature that allows you to import ics event-invitations that are attached to e-mails. We recommend to use K9 Mail for that from version 4.301 upwards.
The application has access to the following:
Storage
modify/delete SD card contents
Allows an application to write to the SD card.
Your personal information
read calendar data
Allows an application to read all of the calendar events stored on your phone. Malicious applications can use this to send your calendar events to other people.
write calendar data
Allows an application to modify the calendar events stored on your phone. Malicious applications can use this to erase or modify your calendar data.
Network communication
full Internet access
Allows an application to create network sockets.
view network state
Allows an application to view the state of all networks.
System tools
automatically start at boot
Allows an application to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the application to slow down overall performance of the phone by constantly running.
prevent phone from sleeping
Allows an application to prevent the phone from going to sleep.
write sync settings
Allows an application to modify the sync settings, such as whether sync is enabled for contacts.
read sync settings
Allows an application to read the sync settings, such as whether sync is enabled for contacts.
Phone calls
read phone state and identity
Allows the application to access the phone features of the device. An application with this permission can determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, whether a call is active, the number that call is connected to, ect.
Your accounts
discover known accounts
Allows an application to get the list of accounts known by the phone.
manage the accounts list
Allows an application to perform operations like adding, and removing accounts and deleting their password.
act as an account authenticator
Allows an application to use the account authenticator capabilities of the AccountManager, including creating accounts and getting and setting their passwords.
Other
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

If it works for your ics file it is good. Had problems with getting to work with my Calender , as developer updated app and it no longer worked. Very poor support from developer. That being said, i eventually got it to work by myself, and works fine now.

Great support - NOT Nice request not to report bugs in review and encouragement to use support. Well, I tried and here is the response.... Hi, thanks for your interest in ICSSync and for contacting us via email! For feature requests: We are currently evaluating several different new features. Thank you for every idea, every one of them goes on to our list and will be discussed. We are sorry, but we can not answer on your email in general, as there are too much of these. Please watch the version comments on our homepage and in the market for new implemented features.

Works well with Thunderbird Lightning .ics files Finally a sync tool which works well on the Samsung S3 (Android 4.0) with local copies of Lightning .ics files --no need to set up a full CalDav server on the PC-- generated under Ubuntu 12.04. Somehow all other ics importers got confused by a number of entries sent from an Exchange server and accepted into Lightning. The startdate for all these invites was set to sometime in 1970. In addition one of the other ics import tools shifted all times to UMT. But icssync handles all items perfectly. The user interface could be a little friendlier, maybe with a local help file, but once you understand you have to point to the local .ics and also to a named calendar on your phone it does its thing.

Inefficient and inflexible .ics file parsing. Poor support. Poor license management. Auto sync does not work.

Does the job but poor Android integration Bug: Manual sync won't work unless bg data is enabled. Bug: will auto sync even if that option is not selected.
