Description
Cyclone 2000 is an Android clone of the Atari Jaguar game Tempest 2000.Please try the demo version first, to make sure it works well on your device. To sponsor the development, go ahead and buy this version.
The full version will consist of 100+ levels. Currently it the first 48 levels (blue, red and yellow levels).
Settings include control type and size, music path and music and sound effects volume. Before complaining about the controls, please test them for a while to see which one suits you the best. Also try different control sizes.
The first time the game is started, it will select control type and size based on your device properties.
Control types:
Multi touch swipe:
Lower part of display is used to swipe left and right to move the blaster. Right side buttons used for shooting, jumping and superzap. This is the default control for Android 2.2+ devices with true multi touch.
Dual touch swipe:
Similar to multi touch swipe, but for devices without true multi touch. Lower part of display is used to swipe left and right to move the blaster and simultaneously shoot, and swipe up to jump. Right side buttons used for superzap. This is the default control for Android 2.2+ that does not have true multi touch.
Single touch arrows:
Use on devices without multi touch. Controlled with one finger, typically the thumb. Side-arrows area moves while shooting. Up arrow area moves and shoots and jumps when available. Top area superzaps. Center area does not move, the further out on the arrows, the faster movement.
Multi touch arrows:
Use on devices with multi touch. Left side similar to single touch arrows for moving. Right side buttons used for shooting, jumping and superzap. This control type works well with the touch emulated Sixaxis controller.
Multi touch circular:
Use finger to rotate around the circular control on the left side. Right side buttons used for shooting, jumping and superzap.
If keys or gamepad controls are used, the controls can be hidden from the screen to get full screen view. Key mappings are done in the control settings. Gamepad control supports analog joystick for movement. Tested with Sixaxis controller.
On Android 4.0+ and devices with soft keys, there is an option to go to real fullscreen mode. Note that this does not work when using touch controls, only when using keyboard or gamepad.
For some older devices, performance can be increased by setting the sound effect volume to zero.
For copyright reasons, the original Tempest 2000 music is not included in the game, but any background music can be selected in the settings. The Tempest 2000 soundtrack is available if you google for it. Or buy it, if you can. It's good.

My all time favourite game! Works great on my Galaxy Note. Looks beautiful. A dream come true! Will you be supporting Gametel pad in future?

Still play this on my Atari Jaguar to this day.. Still play this on my old Jaguar system, that and Alien Vs Predator & Iron Soldier. Still though awesome to have this on my Xperia PLAY. Thank you so much for bringing this out....AWESOME!!!!!

Outstanding! Works great on Xperia Play with latest key mapping update. Just like the Atari Jaguar original, so good.

Great game On galaxy s2 works great except on occasion the firing stops sometimes restarts and sometimes not. On Toshiba thrive it hasn't happened yet but the particle effects are hard to see. I love seeing this, keep up the great work:-) any chance for bonus levels? Now its time to dust off me jag!

final review awesome game ! still freezes occasionaly but not a big deal since level is saved. the only thing I would add is when you catch a powerup as your leaving a cleared web, that it would say yess yess yess like in jag version. but even still near perfection!!!!

My fave ever tempest clone Thanks so much dev for this. Seriously better than all efforts since the original. Would love to see some original sound but appreciate copyright issues. Well worth the money. Hope it keeps getting better and better!

Excellent. Great so far, please add support for external controls (I use sixaxis). Also, on my ics tablet it's not going to full-screen, I've pressed the back button by mistake and I didn't get an exit game confirmation.

Cyclone 2000 Rocks! Outstanding conversion If you played the Jaguar Version, you'll be impressed how close this is to the original. This is still beta, but making great progress to a polished final product. The developer is seeking feedback on any bugs or suggestions.
