We are unable to speed this up.Date In Tray is small and handy utility that constantly shows current month's day number and day name (i.e. "23/Mon" if today is Monday, 23th day of the month) or day number and month name if you prefer that way (i.e. "23/Sep" if its 23th day of September) directly in your notification bar (aka tray), so you can instantly check that out, no matter what application you are using at the moment. Additionally information shown in pull-down view of notification area are be fully configurable so you can have it as you like (Date In Tray offers many placeholders for your convenience). Please take a look at provided screenshots - it may say more than words :)

Best of its type There are other apps that show the date in the status area, but they don't offer all the configuration options available in Date In Tray Pro. For example, with DITP, you can display the text you like in the drop-down (up to 3 separate lines), or no text at all. I also have DITP set up to launch Jorte (calendar) when I tap the DITP drop-down. The author is very responsive, which counts for a lot. My only complaint is that the status area font is, uhh... Not very attractive. It's still better than the rest.

larger fonts and icon Works well on Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Brilliant app. Just needs larger fonts and icon. Too small for my little eye.

This is more a developer review than a review of the app. Outstanding customer service! Extremely quick at offering solutions and fixing issues and very friendly. I wish more developers treated their customers this way.

Worlds Perfect This was the first app I've bought. I was a lil upset when at first because it continued to reset to black after I changed it to white. I messaged the dev team they promptly replied informing me that they were diligently working on it. Fixed after a day. Awesomeness!!

Samsung Galaxy S2 Have had the paid version for about a year and could not fault it, and now!!! Well disaster, they changed to stand alone and now wont keep the settings, the color defaults to black every time when I wake it from sleep, this would not be too bad but for the fact the task bar is black so you cant see it. Emailed webnet and they confirmed this is happening and to "stay tuned". This is not acceptable so uninstalled and am going to look for one that works. Will not purchase apps from webnetmobile again.
