It’s difficult to find words to describe “4teh Birds”. All I can say is that any Tetris fans will definitely fall in love with this game with its cute animation and beautiful graphic.
Just give it a try!
The test report was written by Paulina Gegenheimer, a high school student and a real Android fan!
As far as the game’s concept is concerned, it is strongly reminiscent of classical Tetris except for the blocks being replaced by small goggle-eyed colorful birds.
You can rotate them around freely to make them combine with birds of the same color. The point of the game is to align 3 or more birds of the same color in a row to make them fly away and make room for other ones to take their place.
You get points for every bird you set free. These points get added up automatically. The game’s over as soon as the birds have reached the top of the screen.
You can enter in your points into a score ranking to compare yourself with other players.
Considering that it’s completely free, 4teh birds offers a remarkable amount of different playing modes.
The easiest playing mode is “Hey, not too rough”. Here you can take your time to set all the birds free (as long as you make sure to keep the number of birds in check).
In Full Throttle mode, things get a bit more challenging because you can only move the glowing birds.
In the time attack modes, you have to collect as many points as possible in under 3 or 1 minute.
In Survival mode you infinitely as long as you can keep the screen clear of birds.
I really enjoyed playing 4teh birds. It’s rare to find such a cool looking free game that isn’t just a demo version. It’s one of those games that keep you entertained without costing you a single penny. Who can say no to that?!
The screen design is simply remarkable.
The time is displayed at the bottom of the screen letting you know how much time you’ve played or how much of it remains (depending on the playing mode). In the right hand corner, the player can see the number of points earned.
At the end of a game, your points are displayed and you have the option of entering them into the high scores list.
In the main menu, you have usual sound settings and high scores display. A short playing guide can found in the info rubric.
The melodic bird whistles in the background give this game a particular charm.
The controls for 4teh birds are also fairly straight-forward. Just move the birds around the screen with your finger. The birds fly away as soon as three of the same color find themselves next to each other.
I didn’t experience any performance issues with this app during my test. Everything was highly satisfactory.
You can download 4teh birds for free from the Android Market. The app is really impressive and won’t cost you a dime! You don’t get that too often nowadays.
