Summary

Efficiency nuts: be warned! I think I’ve just come across an amazing app for you!

The thing is that there are apps, contacts and bookmarks you use at home and others that you need when you’re at work. Or maybe you have different activities that require a different set of apps, contacts etc. Are you tired of having to dig through your phone to find what you’re looking for?
This is exactly where FolderOrganizer can come in handy; it gives you quick access to programs that you need. Want to know how it works? Find out in our test.

Features & Use

Section rating:

FolderOrganizer helps you quickly access the most important items on your phone: programs, apps, or contacts.
This is done with the help of specific labels. In other words, you can organize your phone’s content according to certain labels.

FolderOrganizer has following default labels:

  • Android
  • Games
  • Internet
  • Multimedia
  • Notification
  • Tools

Obviously, you are free to add any labels of your own like work, at home, hobby and so on. Here’s a quick example: You’d like to download some new apps to your phone. You’ve already set up an “Apps” label, which includes the AndroidPIT app, the Market, and the Barcode Scanner. Now you can simply add a shortcut for this label to your home screen. All it takes is one click to go directly to the app you need!

If you don’t wish to add shortcuts for every label, you can also add different labels to your start menu. You can then filter out your favorites on the menu screen. This makes sense if you have a large amount of different programs and contacts.

FolgerOrganizer isn’t just about labels. Using FolderOrganizer you can manage your programs in many different ways:

  • Start
  • Uninstall
  • Rename
  • Change icon

In the main menu, located on your status bar, you can also see your most contacted contacts next to your labels.

Bottom Line:

This app is really golden! Looks so simple, yet can do so much. Once you’ve mastered the labeling system (similar to the one from Gmail and many others), you can quickly and efficiently organize your phone to fit your personal needs.
To top it all off, you can personalize your icons, start programs, delete apps – all using FolderOrganizer!
You couldn’t wish for anything more, really. Five stars – no question about it!

Screen & Controls

Section rating:

There have been similar apps available to solve your organization problems. Yet none of them managed to look as well-conceived and structured as FolderOrganizer. Almost 100% of all functions are done through the touch screen.
You can access the usual stuff via the menu button: import and export, create a new label, and adjust some settings.
The app could perhaps use a better-looking user interface. Some of the icons are a bit too massive (e.g. contacts) and the heading bar could be a little more graphically “pimped out”. Not too big of a deal, but these drawbacks account for the lack of a five star rating.

Speed & Stability

Section rating:

The app runs well and is very reliable. No crashes or program errors experienced.

Price/Performance Ratio

Section rating:

The app is available from the Market for €0.99. There’s also a free version available with ads. Totally worth the 99 cents, though.

Amazing app, this is a must have for any android user ..

Love this one. I had tried the demo, and within a week, picked up the paid app. I especially love changing the icons to match my wallpaper. Right now, my folders are disguised as satellites orbiting the moon. I only wish there were font setting options. Still deserves 4.8 in my book, though.

Ok.. tried app.. worked like it states.. but personally I prefer to just use the folder option that came with my Eris. The main advantage is that I can leave the folder open and still scroll though my other screens.. then return to still find my folder still open.. on this app I had to close out of folder first which was a deal breaker for me.

Great folder organizer Awesome app...

Was a 5 until today, when the update removed all the icons I had gone to much trouble to set up. Also have no need/desire for auto label. That should be optional, not the default. Sell makes this a 5again when former ago behavior odds reestablished. Of that behavior idea not restored, hill be removing this app.

As good as it gets Been using this for three phones and a tablet, and it's just solid and dead useful. Pay the man, he's done a wonderful job.

Force closes Since update to 3.5 this has been unusable! All the time force closes! Please roll back!!

Bring back the larger widgets please I upgraded on my tablet and this update makes auto generated icons unusable for me. Don't use or want auto tagging. Will not be upgrading on my phone until larger widgets are an option again. Shame, because it was a 4 to 5 star app for me.

Please make it a choice to use small or large icons! Great app, but I must have been one of the only people who liked the large widget icons instead of the new small ones. Please at lest make it a choice!

finally, auto tag

Auto label sucks /crash Perfect app, until the auto label. Had 400 apps perfectly organized. Then auto label screwed it all up. Not a good idea. People classify apps as they like, my classification are way different. Well now I removed the auto lab led mess and now it crashes and has completely ruined the stability of my tab. Tab is now unusable and needs complete restore

Dell streak 5 Well worth the money, must have app
bluezr1, Apr 22, 2012
Awesome... I have over 100 apps on my phone and with this I can get to them all with a click or two. It allows folders within folders. Ex. I named a folder multimedia and inside I have a music and video folder. I also have it set to transparent and in text format. If you're thinking of getting it, just do it. You won't be disappointed.

Better than GoToApps, App Folder Folder Organizer has a couple persistent bugs and a difficult folder skin customization, but it's better than GoToApps (which has a cluttered interface) and Application Folder (has complicated, unintuitive opetations.) Most home screen apps have their own app organizers. Go EX Launcher, for example, has an excellent folder organizer. However, this app provides 'portability' - if I ever switch to another home app, I won't have to reorganize my apps all over again.

Cool app After a small learning curve, it turns out to be a good little app. Closest to iphone app folders that I have found. Way to go.
Vangelis, Apr 21, 2012
Last update causes FC The last update v3.5 force closes when you try to edit labels from within any folder in your workspace. Please fix.

Still awesome... But needa more themes and more features
Trasd, Apr 21, 2012
Great app! If it wasn't for the poor support, I'd definitely give it 5 stars. Shame too, this is one of the best apps in Market. Changed to 5 stars, not because support got better, but it really is a great app.
