Summary
Twitter had already been written off by many people in the past. It was dubbed a failing business model; online experts predicted a quick take-over by Facebook and found the service to be basically useless.
Despite all of these allegations, the micro-blogging service from California has become immensely popular. AndroidPIT has also become a dedicated tweeter. For those of you unfamiliar with our Twitter, check out our account here.
Quite a few Twitter clients are already out there on the market some of which we have already tested. Here’s yet another one I got my hands on.

First off, you might ask yourself “What’s the point of Twitter?”. The quick answer is: it depends on what you plan to do with it. Personally, I have two main reasons for using Twitter. First, I generally like to keep myself well-informed. Second, this online service has become an extremely important means of communication between AndroidPIT and out readers. Well over 3,000 people are following us online by reading our tweets to keep up-to-date on what’s happening around AndroidPIT. Twitter is a vital tool for us here at AndroidPIT. More and more companies are realizing this potential and opening up their own Twitter accounts.
Whether just for personal use or for working with AndroidPIT, it is important to be able to tweet on-the-go even when you’re not sitting at your computer. That’s where Twitter clients come in handy by letting you access your Twitter account without having to go to the website itself. Lately, there has been a surge of these types of clients with some being better than others. Touiteur – a Twitter client with a French accent – is one of them. Touiteur offers everything a good Twitter client should. The app is very clearly layed-out and there are a total of five tabs with which you can control this app:
- Tweets: a normal timeline of all your followed tweets.
- Mentions: displays any mentions of you in other people’s tweets.
- Messages: All private messages between Twitter users.
- More: this section is divided into a) New Tweet, b) Search, c) Lists, d) Trends e) Favorites
- Refresh
Clicking on an individual tweet gives you more options:
- Reply: Answer tweets directly. Others can read this tweet in their Mentions.
- Links: All links from a tweet, including mentions are placed into a clean and easy to read list.
- Retweet
- Favorite: Add a tweet to your Favorites
- More: a) Show Profile , b) Direct Message, c) Share (via E-Mail, SMS, etc.), d) Copy to clipboard
Bottom Line:
The breadth of functions available on this Twitter clinet is very good. No big suprises or innovations, but a solid 4 stars nonetheless.

The great user interface is what makes Touiteur my new favorite Twitter client. Not only does it look good, but it is also intuitive to use. Many Twitter clients for Android that I have seen in the past cannot compare to this one. If you consider how well-done some of the Twitter clients for the iPhone are, you have to admit that the Android versions are not on par.
It’s reassuring to see steps being made in the right direction with Android apps such as Touiteur. This shows that it is possible to develop beautiful and intuitive user interfaces for Android, as well.
That’s why this app deserves a full five-star rating!

I already gave it a 5 star. Hope the DEV continues great work on Touiteur as it's my favorite Twitter app to date!

Profile photo? Love the new interface, but when I try to change my photo, it tells me that "the tweet no longer exists". Doesn't make sense. Fix please.

Meh DMs aren't threaded. Impossible to keep conversations straight when they're all mixed in with each other. The only time they're threaded is through window shade notification. VERY easy to accidentally tweet instead of DM. No notice, no thread. No Drafts folder: tweet it now or lose it forever. App works well but poor major features are a deal breaker. Official app is better. I'll keep it but only as a backup.

App Is Defective I Cant Follow People.It Wont Let Me Uninstall The Update And When I Go To My Profile My Tweets Aren't Showing

Loved it...Until today I loved using plume until today when it wouldn't let me tweet anything, I could read updates in my timeline but I can't tweet. So for the time being I'm using the regular twitter app until that gets fixed. I'll see if clearing the cache helps...could be just that....nope it's still not working grrrr.

Its a good app Nice app, I just wish it would tell me when I get retweeted, you have to go to your profile then go to the retweets column.

Great app. Have used original twitter app and uber Great app. Have used original twitter app and ubersocial for long time. Yet i love the widget of plume best. It's easier to use too

Fresh New and Updated in all Aspects The overall experience of tweeting gets redefined by this App, I enjoyed using Plume 2.9 as well as 3.0 but the thing that I liked most in 2.9 was the "drop down" animated option to press on the top center of the screen to be able to type a tweet, It was a feature which added a little amount of "Fun" to the experience of tweeting, I miss that feature in the 3.0 update even though the App looks a feels much "Sharper" & "leaner" than the previous versions. It would be great if you could get that "drop down' animated feature back, please, I request. Twitter has a lot to do with what is trending and here comes my second request, please give us an option to choose region specific trends, as in country and city specific, It would be of great help. On the over all this App has always impressed me and I am a huge "Fan" of your work, but there are miles to go still. Keep up the Good work. Thank You for a great App

Plume not the same. Needs a "jump to the top" button, delete tweet button, & I can't follow or unfollow people anymore.

Galaxy s2 Love the app but it never let's me know when I have a mention or anything, hopefully the next update fix it
