It’s hard work becoming a real Ninjutsu. Becoming a ‘Fruit Ninja’ is a little less grueling: all you need is your Android phone and Ninja Kaka Pro. Smash up fruit all day long—ah, that’s the life. Ninja Kaka Pro is a game that lets you test how fast you react to things. Read on to find out more.
A real Ninja knows how to use his sword, as being a Ninja means that you know what it is to employ your weapon thoughtfully and carefully. It calls for the right reaction to every action, as well as speed and dexterity. And now let’s start smashing some fruit!
The first level is fairly easy. Or is it? It should be, but the score you have to attain is set too high in Ninja Kaka Pro (220 points), which means you have to make between four to eight attempts until you successfully wrap up the first level. Once you’ve figured out how it is possible, but you have to experiment a bit to get there, and when I say there I mean to the second level.
The challenge you’re presented with is having to slice up as many fruits as possible in a set period of time—and that amount of time simply isn’t enough! It isn’t do-able with simple moves, so you have to use the additional points you’re given to make combos. A combo is when you chop up several pieces of fruit at once. There’s no way to get ahead in this game unless you make use of this special.
You need 240 points to get past level two. The velocity at which the food drops is increased slightly, plus, if you miss the fruit you get a negative score.
As a seasoned Ninja the third level shouldn’t be a problem for you; for me, on the other hand, it’s been quite a battle. It would be a whole lot easier if you didn’t lose points every time a cut is missing on a piece of fruit. Pull it together, now!
In the fourth and final level – Master Class Ninja – you are faced with the same challenges that you have to master as in the previous levels. Furthermore, you also have to chop up the so-called Target Fruits. If you don’t manage you lose points once again.
Every level seamlessly links up to the preceding one. If you don’t pass a level you will have to start over from the beginning; with just a bit of training you might soon make it into the highscores. The guy who’s currently in first position has over 3000 points. Congrats!
My critique would be that Ninja Kaka Pro only has four levels, but when you play it’s like it only has one level. I think it would make sense to have more levels that take less time to solve, as well as the possibility to save your score so that you don’t have to start over again from the beginning each time. Players might appreciate the heightened sense of achievement and thus enjoy playing for longer.
Ninja Kaka Pro runs on +Android 2.0.
Bottom line:
I would definitely recommend Ninja Kaka Pro as a time-killer game. The app’s score would be higher if it weren’t for the fact that the levels take too long and are too challenging to crack.
The app’s design is pretty sweet and the gameplay is good. If you practice a bit you’ll be able to pull off Swypes which will enable you to do combos (essential for getting ahead in the game). The sound effects are excellent and really set the mood. Ninja power!
The game runs smoothly, no problems whatsoever. There were no waiting periods when playing on my HTC Desire, despite the complex graphics.
You can download Ninja Kaka Pro - Fruit Dojo for $1,99 from the Android Market.
A lite version is available free of charge.
