Summary

Once upon a time, in a place far, far away, there was an empty planet. One day, the creator asked himself why the planet was empty, and he decided to do something about it. So he created a colorful and happy little world, but it wasn’t meant for humans; the residents were destined to by rolling balls of fur.
One day a few young furballs decided to leave their city, but little did they know that a great adventure was waiting for them…

Today’s test review was written by Paulina Gegenheimer, a high school student and die-hard Android fan.

Features & Use

Section rating:

Furry Legends begins with this epic story. The player finds himself reborn as a furball on an enchanting planet, and the game’s objective is to guide the furball through obstacles until the it reaches the goal. To reach this goal you must make your way across mountain, along steep cliff sides, across deep canyons, and confronted with other dangers you must try to keep the furball alive.

This might sound relatively easy, but that isn’t always the case. However, it is lots of fun, especially because Furry Legends offer lots of other distractions thanks to integrated mini games such as riddles and puzzles.

The game was originally developed for Wii, but it’s good fun on an Android phone, too.

I’m impressed, especially because the graphic design is great.

Try it out and see for yourself!

Screen & Controls

Section rating:

As already mentioned, Furry Legends’ design is wonderfully made, and the background music sets the right mood.

Controls are fairly simple. A small raven explains the game as you play, which spares you from having to read boring instructions. However, the fact that the game was originally developed for Wii is noticeable in the sense that maneuvering the figure doesn’t always work that well. Marks off for that!

If you press the A button as soon as you’re standing next to raven you will learn a new trick, which you can then try out during the next few meters.

You control the little ball of fur using the arrows in the bottom left side of the screen.

If you hit Pause you can stop the game, start a new game, get help, or switch the sound on or off.

It’s pretty easy to get the hang of things.

Speed & Stability

Section rating:

During the testing phase I was satisfied with the speed, though you do have to wait a bit for the game to load in the beginning.

The stability is also good. The app does switch off automatically as soon as the phone is set on sleep, which I found annoying, as you can’t switch off the display (in order to economize battery power) when you press pause without starting a new game.

Price/Performance Ratio

Section rating:

Furry Legends Lite can be downloaded free of charge from the Market. There’s a full version for US$1,99. A link towards the full version can be found in the lite versions main menu.

Seems fun the controls suck I can't get over how the jump buttons and the button to move forward are on the same side so they are awkward, I won't play it cuz I can't get over it

Controls aren't that great. Even with my giant EVO screen they made it far too difficult to play... aside from that its decent. Won't buy full

Super lame

Would probably be a 5 if the controls for touch screen droid2 weren't so difficult to use.

Uninstalled. The game looks good, but it doesn't save it's state when you get called or if you press home. So you have to restart every time.
