Summary

If you've ever played Gameloft's N.O.V.A. 2 the Reflexions gameplay will seem very familiar to you. It's basically a minigame version of the game that has been referred to as 'hacked'.
Ring any bells? Even if you've never played or heard of this game you should check out today's review—Reflexions is quite an interesting puzzler.

Features & Use

Section rating:

The game's main menu won me over right away: it's animated, there are some cool effects with lights and it's just plain fun to look at. It's also very functional: you can start a new game as well as check out the settings, your score and the developer's page.

Starting a new game: there are 4 different worlds, each harbouring 10 puzzles. The first puzzles are easy to solve and serve as an introduction to the game. That said, the gameplay and and of itself is quite simple.
A green ball of light is to be navigated to a light blue goal, and all the while blue parallelograms are to be collected, but don't step on any of the red mines whilst doing so.

Mirrors – which can be rotated at 90°, 180° or 270° – can be used to help navigate the dot, because when it hits on of the mirrors at a certain angle it is refracted at the same angle, i.e. the incident and reflection angles.
The mirrors can be rotated when the green light hits them, as well as while the little dot is moving.

Later on you will encounter obstacles or helpful things such as portals that let you teleport from one point to the next. Some mirrors can't be rotated at all, putting another twist (teehee, geddit?) on the whole thing and making the puzzle more complex.

The faster you are the more stars you will be awarded when the puzzle has been resolved.
Puzzles do become trickier as you progress, but not in tear-my-hair-out-at-the-roots, ego shooter kind of way. So it makes for a great game to play when you're feeling a bit sleepy, for instance.
The game does not provide any tips or tricks, it's up to you to solve everything.
You are awarded stars as well as a few awards (which, let me tell you, you will be quite stoked to receive once you get hooked on this game) such as ' Get all stars in World 4' or 'Flip mirrors 100 times'.

Go to settings to switch the cool effects and/or sound on/off.

Bottom line:
Reflexions is fun, interesting and in a class of its own compared to some other puzzlers. Every puzzle seems like a new challenge, keeping players on their toes and entertained.

Screen & Controls

Section rating:

Reflexions is easy to use and I would wager that all users will have sussed out the gameplay after having completed their second puzzle.
Design-wise this game reminds me of TRON. It features lots of animations that add another fun factor without seeming too childish. The graphics look very sharp, even on the Acer Iconia Tab A500.

Speed & Stability

Section rating:

Reflexions run very smoothly and dependably throughout our test runs. The application’s speed is also totally decent.

Price/Performance Ratio

Section rating:

Reflexions is currently available for 82 Cent, and – IMO – the game is well worth this very reasonable price tag.

Reflective fun A fresh concept for a puzzle game. I love the retro graphics. The game play is fast, controls are easy, the price is right and it works great on my asus tablet. I highly recommend this game, unless you are an enemy of fun!

Brill really good puzzle game, only 40 levels but by the time you have completed all 40, which I have not done as yet. I am sure you will have forgotten how you did the ones before. Well worth the money,

Awesome game..need more levels Take doodle jump for example...constant expansion of levels or tweaks keep the game exciting and fresh. I beat this game and will probably never play it again unless more levels are introduced. If I keep playing then I am more likely to tell someone else about it or someone will see me playing and ask about it. Please expand!!!
