Summary
Many of us have a lot of important personal data saved on our smartphones, and it’s in our best interest to have said data backed up in the event of losing the device or upgrading to a new one. Two options spring to mind: the first is to transcribe everything manually; a major problem here is how to manually secure system and app settings. The second – and more viable – is to fall back on applications such as MyBackup Pro by Rerware. Find out more in today’s review.

Installing the 1,59 MB file takes but a moment. Once that’s taken care of the first step is to enter a password and email address followed by the code you received upon purchasing the app.
Here’s an overview of the app’s main features:

Save you photos, galleries, contacts, call registry, app installation data, bookmarks, SMS, MMS, calendar, system settings (even homescreens and the onscreen positions of your shortcuts), alarms, dictionaries, music and playlists and more. You can either do manual backups or set up a weekly automated backup.
Backup to the SD card or online. You are allotted free online 100 MBs; should you want more space you will need to pay either US$1/month or US$10/year for 250 MB or US$2/month or US$20/year for 1 GB.
Should you have chosen to backup up manually, be sure to name the backup before hitting OK.
Recovering data is just as easy: select the data type and a location.
Bottom line:
MyBackup Pro is easy to use and highly effective. It allows even non-root users to backup and restore data in a heartbeat. The only drawback is that very little online storage is available unless you’re willing to invest more. This is especially annoying considering how much the app already costs and the fact that there are numerous cloud services the provide free storage space.
I used MyBackup Pro to transfer a ton of data from a Nexus to a Note and found the procedure to be easy breezy.

Use the first option to set up the app according to your preferences: pick a location for restored data, select which settings are to be restored (Google contacts, contacts, call lists, bookmarks, SMS, MMS, alarms, dictionaries, calendars…).

Speed & Stability

It’s smooth sailing with MyBackup Pro. I had the app installed on a Nexus for many months and never had any trouble. Since I’ve been using it on the Note I did notice that the app had trouble connecting with the server every now and then, but it was able to perform its full scope of functionality.
Price/Performance Ratio

MyBackup Pro is available for EUR4,59. Anyhting beyond the aforementioned 100 MBs of online storage will cost you extra. I find the price to be rather steep, though the app does provide users with a lot of useful features.

Good backup app Awesome customer support. Set to backup regularly online & onto SD card. If you plan on backing-up data & apps online, be prepared to pay for storage space, although worth it.

Didnt restore app data I moved between two non-rooted phones, with the original phone not able to be rooted. All of my data (pics, msgs, etc) was backed up and restored successfully except for app data. Had it done that I wouldve given 5 stars, but I shouldve read the full release notes before I expected this to happen too. Overall good app, just needs non-root app data recovery.

Not working after flashing new ROM No matter what location I give it (/sdcard, /mnt/sdcard, etc.), MyBackup Pro can't find the backup file to restore (though I can see it in any file browser). I wish I bought Titanium backup.

Not Bad. This actually worked fairly well. I was able to transfer all the the apps I needed from the Droid Incredible to my Droid Razr Maxx. Easy to use. The only 2 cons I had with it. 1st was that setting were not transferred with apps. You will need to reapply your settings in each app. 2nd not happy with $5 price. I feel $3 would have been sufficient.

Truly an example of a great app and great support! I purchased this app well over a year ago and it's been the first app installed after flashing a new ROM. Switching ROMs and having all apps reinstalled with their respective states restored is an awesome time-saver! Going to repurchase this for my father when I next see him; I've a feeling his phone never gets backed up! ;) The Support team is absolutely phenomenal (even 15 months after a measly few dollar purchase). A Google Play integration issue was resolved speedily!

So much easier than Titanium BckUp Although there can be a trial and error period, when first leaning My BackUp Pro, and initial backUps & restores can take some time, it really does have the best backup reliability. SO MUCH EASIER THAN LOUSY TITANIUM BACKUP! My only real complaint is how initial backups/restores can't run in the background...

Great Customer Support Had a problem with app freezing and Customer Support quickly resolved the issue! This is the best backup solution I have found and this customer service level is much appreciated.

Good on Samsung Galaxy S2 Very handy for reinstalling to a previous version of an app after you find the latest version does not work on your device. Would get 5 stars if you could sync your backup back to your pc for ultimate security.

Customer service Having problems they are not helping with. Have 1gb of storage online, changed phones and can't access it, will stay 1 star until resolved.
