Summary

Every now and again we come across games that have us tearing our hair out at the roots and biting our nails manically. Yes, I'm talking about logic games that will twist and bend your mind, compelling you to keep going because you want to top your own high scores.

When it comes to MegaFlux, not only your mind will be twisting and bending: in this original plumber style game a bunch of so-called Nano pipes have to be tapped into the correct order so that a substance called Flux can reach the Processors without obstruction.

Features & Use

Section rating:

Tested on: Samsung Galaxy Tablet

Welcome to a neon plumbing system, with unlimited levels and a level editor which lets you create your own levels.

MegaFlux makes a good impression right off the bat thanks to its funky retro graphics. The goal of the game, as mentioned in the intro, is to twist the Nano-pipes in a way so that the Flux icons can flow to the processors. Sounds easy enough, and to be fair at the beginning it is, but after the initial learning curve levels become more complex and you will need to concentrate and use your logical thinking skills in order to twist and untwist the pipes in the correct way.

The game has two modes: Relaxed and Challenge. Relaxed is an infinity mode and harbours levels of various sizes and degrees of difficulty. Challenge, on the other hand, has 50 levels in total, and let me tell you that they get progressively more and more tricky to work out.

As well as an option to see other MegaFluxers' highscores, there are hints and medals to spur you on along the way—not that you'll need much spurring on because, if you're a logic-game fun, this original gameplay is quite compelling. The fact that there's a level editor and talk of community-level-building (a mode via which it should be possible to share levels with other users) in the works adds to the game's longevity.

Bottom line:

MegaFlux is a very addictive game: it can be challenging at times but it is also rewarding, and the overall style and mood work into the theme quite nicely.

We're looking forward to seeing what the developers will add to this game with the upcoming community mode!

Price/Performance Ratio

MegaFlux is available for free from the AndroidPIT App Center. An ad banner is displayed throughout the game and there's no option of upgrading to get rid of the banner, unfortunately.

Update: Paul, one of the SoFresh developpers got in touch with us to let us know that there is a small green button (located on the main, settings and about screen) via which you can upgrade to get rid of the banner. We somehow missed that one: our bad!

Amazingly addictive This game is extremely addictive, as long as you can get past the steep learning curve. I barely made it past but feel my life is far richer now because I did. This is the first 5 start rating I have given anything on the Google play store, and it is well deserved.

Great game, but keep a charger handy. I love the game. I was spending hours playing these things (half an hour figuring out some of the later levels even). I have to agree with what some other people have said about the battery though. It kills your battery very quickly. I guess it has to do with the constant checking of paths and everything, but who knows other than the developers themselves. Still, I HIGHLY suggest you get this game...just make sure you can charge.

Simply great but... Spent good time on it and loved every bit. Good mind workout. My only big issue is that the game chews through my battery without heed.

Challenging and fun Starts very simple but amps up at a nice pace to become very challenging. Reccomend.
