If your rooted, I HIGHLY recommend:

Titanium Backup Pro - for backing up and restoring all your apps.
ROM Manager/CWM Recovery - for creating/restoring a complete backup of your phone
System Tuner pro - for overclocking, sd tweaks, overall system monitor

For rooted and non rooted

File Manger - my favorite file manager for browsing sd card or changing system files

When it comes to utilities here are my best application so far...

1. Easy Battery Saver - which doubles my battery life from 18hrs.- 1 day of use.

2. ROM Manger (Clockword MOD) - for flashing custom ROM's

3. Document Editor PRO - so that I can edit and view office documents while I'm home and anytime and anywhere.

4. NewsAce Video News Reader(RSS) - it has a Daily Prophet feature which videos play from within the newspaper, has 400+ recommended news channels, Renowned News and allows you to select the feeds from Google Reader(RSS) selection by dragging down from the console, smooth user interface with their current update just by by swiping left or right, you can easily switch from NewsAce’s recommended video selections to your Google Reader selections and vice versa.

3. Spin City Blackjack - Casino games are great too

Skifta must be among the favorites.

Skifta use DNLA to allow you to stream Movies, music etc. between all your WiFi devices. Not only do you have access to all the movies you have on your Laptop from your phone or tablet but you are saving valuable storage on your mobile devices and best of all you can have access to all your media even if you are at a friends place and want to play the latest hit. This newsletter had a good article about streaming media between all your WiFi devices in the February issue: http://it-depot.net/pages/NewsletterArchive

I'm a big poker fan so I really like the bwin, 888 poker and Switch Poker Texas Hold'em apps. I also like casino games such as Blackjack, Slots, Video Poker and Mega Moolah. www.androidcasinoapps.net carry a pretty good list of real money casinos.

I also like the Mashable and Pulse apps.
