Apparently the bootloader is locked but not signed. There's a thread on XDA Forums about getting a root for the device.

Does anyone think that an easy root app (Like GingerBreak, Z4Mod, Super1Click) would work with the Flyer? I am a little afraid to try because I don't think there is anyway to restore your device yet. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I've already tried Visionary 1 Click and no luck, but I didn't brick it.

I wouldn't really try it until a working method is confirmed or they release the SBF files to restore to stock in case of bricking. I bricked my Droid X a week before SBFs came out and it wasn't fun, so I'd say hold off on that for now.

HTC has said that they will be unlocking the bootloaders of all newly-released devices through an OTA update. I just wonder when this will happen...
