Would You Ever Buy a Huawei?

My carrier is offering a special deal on the Huawei Ideos and the phone is available for just $140...OFF-CONTRACT. Obviously, this is quite a good deal, but is it worth it or should I spring for a better phone? I heard Huawei phones can be really slow. Could I just root it? I dunno, my gut says not to buy this phone..

We had one here in the AndroidPIT office for a while and to be honest I actually kind of liked it. Its everything but highend but for the price it seemed like a good buy. Personally I need alot of the bells and wistels you find a modern smartphone so it wouldn't be my first choice but for a lower end consumer, who doesn't need all of the options out there it isn'T a bad phone at all.
