security swipe

how can I turn my security swipe back on. It stopped all of a sudden and I cant figgure it out. Already looked through the settings . I need help,( my leg keeps trying to text without me) Without the security swipe my phone when its in my pants pocket tries to make calls on its own.

To set up a security swipte or a lock code on your Android device go to settings >location and security settings > and there you'll have the option of either setting up a lock screen, pin or pattern lock.

That's really odd. Are the options not there? What version of Android are you running?
