2. i have got got GPRS settings done on it, internet works fine.
3. How ever even after repeated attempts i am not being able to sign in to MARKET. so i did the following :_

- I called up Htc helpline India
- They told me to mail HTC in US ( as per the IMEI number the MOBILE SET is from US)
4. So friends , can anyone please help me and tell me how do i make it run in India & how do i sign in MARKET.

What, exactly, happens when you try to sign into Android Market using your Google account?

If you have a standard signal with your provider you are already ahead of the game. You may need to enter the APN of your provider. Or instal the Marketenabler.apk..

Have a look at the APN setting and make sure it is correct. Type in Google search Android G1 APN setting Europe or USA or wherever you are.

Try these settings

Menu
Settings
Wireless & Networks
Mobile Networks
Access Point Names
Create new one

Great advice Chris. I had the same issue when I used to have the G1.

Let us know if you get it working!

If I am correct, You cannot sign on to Google Market unless you have a Google+ account. Then you enable two step verification and are given a 16 letter password. Then you use that 16 letter password to sign in to your Google account, not your regular password!
