Dear all, we just published an Android app "FB for Seniors" on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.isils.facebookforseniors). It enables seniors to easily keep connected to families, friends and communities with messages, pictures and videos through Facebook.
As we know, many seniors live independently, and they feel isolated due to lack of social activities. They cannot easily go out and visit people, and the same to other people to visit them, This app is expected to help involve seniors into this social networking age and improve their quality of life.
We are a start-up company (www.isils.ca) dedicated to providing innovative solutions to seniors living independently. We understand that this forum is about free apps. We would love to make this app free. However, as a start-up we lack of financial resource now. Although we charge this app $1.99 and we'd like to get a little back to cover our cost, we are not hoping to make big money from it. What we are pursuing is to let more people know about it and hopefully create some partnerships with interested parties. Our ultimate goal is not only a free app, but also a free tablet for each senior (tablets are expensive today and hard for seniors to afford). The profit should be generated from other business models instead of selling stuff to seniors.
Please help us review and let more people know about it. We will become seniors one day, and what we are doing today is to prepare our community for that day!
We agree with the forum admin if the admin determines to delete this post since the app it talks about is not free. We highly respect the culture and rules here.
