If youre phone has a removabale SD card - then you could use something like SMS Backup and Restore it should do what you are looking for.
You can also use this app if you dont have an SD card - it will save the file on your internal phone memory, so if you connect your phone via usb to your computer you can just pull the file onto your desktop.
