Widget Draw Calls

Hi,

I'm new to android development and am currently designing a clock widget. My design has the interface broken up into lots of small customisable graphical elements. I'm wondering how many of these a widget can sensibly display at one time? Is there an upper limit?

I can't page all the images together since this will limit the flexibility & customisation I wish to achieve.
