Description of ringtext messenger App

send and receive messages, without any SMS or mobile data usage and roaming fees / charges from providers :p

Hi everyone,

My name is Igo and live in The Netherlands. Together with a friend in Sri Lanka and 2 other guys in Holland we have build a messenger for Android that differs from all mobile messenger apps because exchanging messages even works when there is NO data connection available!

This summer we launched it in Holland and it was a success, but we don't expect a huge market in European countries because of "almost perfect mobile data infrastructure and cheap data roaming" (ringtext doesn’t need mobile data!)

What we already learned from ringtext users, it's the perfect status messenger for Worldwide travellers! We believe also for people in countries and places where mobile data (roaming) is expensive or not available.

We would love you to give us feedback and tips so that we can make ringtext easier and better. Please help us to distribute ringtext for free in those countries and tell us how to make it more perfect.
ringtext is and will be 100% free in use and also, users don't need a mobile data plan, so that's cheap !

Our profit is not in selling the App or in-app purchases, but trying get it running Worldwide an selling the patented technology in other industries like authentication. We built it for testing our technology.

Note: of course like all other messengers you need always (minimum) 2 ringtext users to send and receive! Have fun, and stop paying for data plan costs and roaming fees (sorry telco's)

Thanks Igo

Downloads aviable from Google Playstore (Just Google ringtext) and soon download from here I hope? (i cannot make links help)

HOW IT WORKS:

The ringtext technology is based on Missed Call's. I will try to explain it with this example

Your friend mr X (somewhere travelling in China) has no mobile data available to chat with you over the Internet. So he starts to call you in the USA and he disconnects the call just after hearing the first 2 ring tones. You will probably notice this as a "missed call" from your friend and you understands "he is landed in Peking now and everything is okay". This is commonly used by millions of people as a way of communicating pre-agreed messages for free because a missed call (unanswered call) is totally free of charges. (as you know, data plan costs and roaming charges are money-spinners for phone companies).

If he and you would use the Android ringtext messenger app, you would see the message in your display "I am in Peking now and everything is okay"

Magic? No

If you call someone, he or she will see who's calling (your Caller ID). The trick is in the caller ID and also not answering the phone (=no charges). The incoming number (Caller ID) is mapped to a pre-edited text already in the ringtext app. Sending a ringtext message is a missed call and the message text is seen in the phones display. Sending different text's is just sending different Caller ID's. Do we spoof phone numbers? No, the trick is ringtext messages are "missed call forwards" over a VOIP switch (PBX). The switch is currently based in Amsterdam, but this could be everywhere in the World. Exchange ringtext messages is a (International) missed call with NO Call or data roaming fees from your phone companies (telco's).:D

Pre-edited message are already in the ringtext app, but can be changed or add at any time. Simply type the text and sync goes automaticly in the background if a (WiFi)data connection comes up.

Notice ringtext is not a daily messager like whatsapp, Hangouts, etc. but the perfect App for status messages in case roaming is expensive or you don't have mobile data ;)

about roaming
Be aware that data roaming fees can apply even if you are traveling domestically. If you're not leaving the country, you may think you're in the clear regarding roaming charges. However, you can still be charged roaming fees in some instances; for example, US providers may charge roaming fees if you go to Alaska and they don't have cell towers there. Another example: cruise ships use their own cellular antennas, so you may be charged by your cell provider as much as $5 per minute for any voice/data usage while onboard a cruise ship.
