You're in luck, because there are many ways to save your battery.
First, make sure that the S-pen on your Note stays in its slot unless you are using it. The Note looks for it whenever it's removed, and that drains the battery.
Second, download a task killer like Advanced Task Killer or CleanMaster Cleaner, and use those to shut down apps running in the background. It'll make your phone run faster, too.
Third, make sure your screen's brightness is set to "auto" and also that it doesn't stay on for very long when inactive.
Finally, I would advise downloading a battery manager app or widget (I prefer Gauge Battery Widget, but JuiceDefender is another popular one) because they can tell you what's draining your battery most. You can also find that information in your settings.
