On the google+ android app home screen, there is an icon to the left off the "Bell". Does anyone know what this means/does? When I signed into google plus this morning, there was a number in red next to it.

Hi Mike D!

When someone interacts with your Google+ page, either leave a comment, +1 one of your posts, share something with you or adds you to their circles, you will receive a red corresponding number that acts as a notification to let you know that this has happened. Clicking on it will prompt a drop down list showing the activity.

Ya, the bell icon is for notification received, such as when you receive a comment on your post, or some one +1 your post or if someone has added you to their circles.
