Have you been eyeing your friends' profile pics, either because they are funny, original or cute? If you have ever been tempted to save the picture for yourself, it's simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open WhatsApp .
  2. Open the chat with the person whose image you would like to download.
  3. To gain public access to that person's profile, press the menu button on your phone.
  4. Once inside the profile, you will see the contact information. Click on the image to enlarge it.
  5. When you see the big picture, notice that you can only view it with the help of internet connection.
  6. Close WhatsApp now and open ES File Explorer. Explore and search for the folder called WhatsApp.
  7. It will likely be at the end. Click on this folder and then go into the folder called Profile Pictures.
  8. Here you will see all the pictures you have previewed in WhatsApp. Choose what interests you and hold down on it for a few seconds. You will then view options to share, delete, move, among other things.

That's it!

This is very simple to do just go on to your friends profile pic and select the share button at the top-right of the image and once to click on the share button, select the option "save to gallery".

Thanks for the information. Problem I am having now is there is no share option when I enlarge the picture. It works on other profile pictures but not this particular one. And I know I haven't been blocked because I can see the profile picture and when the person is online.

Yes, you can easily save profile pictures from WhatsApp. Open the chat with the person whose picture you want to download, access their profile via the menu button, enlarge the image, then close WhatsApp and use ES File Explorer to find and save the picture from the 'Profile Pictures' folder.

Well, it ain't workin' fer me (thinking)

I don't have ES Explorer, just XFolder and whatever came with the Pixel 7 Pro. When I open the chat and tap Menu, I can enlarge the profile photo and then close WhatsApp, but I don't see anything with the two file explorers that I have that show a "Profile Pictures" folder.

Using WhatsApp Version 2.23.25.78.

I understand you. You can explore third-party apps like "Status Saver for WhatsApp" or "WA Profile Picture Downloader" that specifically download WhatsApp profile pictures.

First of all, open the chat with the friend whose profile picture you want to save. Then, tap on their profile picture to view it in full screen. There, you can find an option to download or save the picture directly from there. Otherwise, you can simply take a screenshot of the picture and then crop it according to your needs.
