Gentlemen,
After my s4 firmware was updated to version 4.4.2, the emails in my account disappeared. Has anyone experienced this problem? How can i fix this?
The funny thing is that i can search and find the previous emails but they are not displayed on the phone.

Well, I haven't experienced anything like.....hmm... 
can't really tell what's going on but as its now disappeared. Try configuring the email account again !

clear cache from Gmail
From the home screen, tap Apps.
Scroll to and tap Settings.
Tap More.
Tap Application manager.
Swipe left to view the All tab.
Scroll to and tap the GMAIL APP
Tap Clear cache.
You've now cleared the application cache.
