If I upgrade to 5.0 and don't like it how hard is it to go back to kit kat?

Well @Shawn S., it's not that much hard to get back to KitKat, if you know how you can do that ;) but I would say for doing that you need to root your device and may need to flash the KitKat back again. It's often advised not to roll the system back from higher to lower because boot loader gets updated and sometimes rolling back results in getting your device bricked.

So if I root it and flash it back then there isn't as much a chance of bricking it as there is from a rollback?

I have only had one other phone that i rooted and flashed a new rom to and it worked out ok but it was a motorola triumph on Virgin mobile
and the service sucked here. I couldn't more than 2 bars anywhere. Dropped lots of calls so I dropped them and went to T-mobile.
