Samsung Galaxy S3 — Factory reset problem and fixing

I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 which I have done a factory reset on since then it will not do anything past the start screen. If anyone knows how to get past this it would make a big difference for alot of people. I have a friend who has lost their phone and I would like to be able to give this to them.

Start into Downloadmode and flash the newest Firmware with Odin.
Start into Recoverymode then and do a FactoryReset again.
