HTC One (M8) — Cardboard magnet fix

Hello All,

I recently obtained a Google Cardboard but the magnet does not seem to work. When I move the magnet towards the back of the phone then it seems to switch the screen off.

Does anyone know how to fix this this? I only received the Cardboard after I updated to lollipop, I read somewhere that it did work before that update.
