When I tried to browse the 'Internal Storage - Android - data' folder in the stock File Manager app, I failed to access this folder directly. Any other folders can be accessed normally.

The device is a Xiaomi phone with Android 13. When I tap the 'Open' button then, it works fine.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble browsing folders in the stock file manager app. One solution that may work is to clear the cache and data of the app. This will essentially reset the app and may resolve any issues that are causing it to malfunction.

To do this, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > File Manager > Storage & cache > Clear cache and Clear storage. Keep in mind that this will erase any data and settings associated with the app, so make sure to back up any important files before doing this.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

If you are unable to browse a folder directly in the stock File Manager app, here are some possible solutions:

Clear the app cache: Go to the app settings, find the File Manager app, and clear the cache. This may resolve any issues related to the app's performance.

Restart the phone: Sometimes, restarting the phone can fix software glitches and allow you to browse folders in the File Manager app.

Check permissions: Make sure that the app has permission to access your device's storage. Go to the app settings, find the File Manager app, and check the permissions.

Try a different file manager: If the issue persists, you may want to try a different file manager app from the Google Play Store.

If you're experiencing issues with browsing folders directly in the stock File Manager app on your Android device, try the following steps to solve the problem:

Clear the cache and data of the File Manager app by going to Settings > Apps > File Manager > Storage > Clear cache/Clear data.

Restart your device and try to browse the folders again.

If the issue persists, try using a third-party file managers app like ES File Explorer or Solid Explorer. These apps offer more features and may be able to browse folders more easily.

Ensure that the folder you're trying to access has the proper permissions and isn't protected by a password or encryption.

If you're still unable to browse the folders, try resetting app preferences by going to Settings > Apps > Reset app preferences.

This will reset all app preferences to their default settings.

Thanks for your advice. However, I think that the issue maybe has nothing to do with the stock File Manager app. It looks more like a design behavior for the new version of Android system.

By the way, on your Android 13 device, can you access the special folder directly with the stock File Manager app?

If you're experiencing difficulties browsing a specific folder directly within the stock File Manager app on your device, there are a few potential reasons and solutions you can try:

Folder permissions: Ensure that the folder you're trying to access has the appropriate permissions for the File Manager app to read its contents. Check the folder's properties and make sure it is accessible.

File Manager app limitations: Some stock File Manager apps have limitations on the types of files or folders they can display. If you're trying to access a folder with a non-standard file format or if it contains system files that the app doesn't recognize, it may not be able to display them. In such cases, consider using a third-party file manager app that offers more comprehensive features and compatibility.

File Manager app update: Check if there is an available update for your stock File Manager app. Sometimes, app updates can include bug fixes or improvements that address browsing issues. Visit the app store or the manufacturer's website to see if there's a newer version available for download.

Clear cache and data: If the File Manager app is acting glitchy or not displaying folders correctly, you can try clearing its cache and data. This process varies based on the device and operating system you're using. Generally, you can go to the device's "Settings," navigate to the "Apps" or "Application Manager" section, locate the File Manager app, and choose to clear its cache and data. Be aware that this will remove any personalized settings or preferences you have set within the app.

Restart device: Sometimes, a simple device restart can resolve temporary glitches or conflicts affecting the File Manager app. Restart your device and check if the problem persists.
