Well, the long wait for the new firmware update to owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 might be coming to an end soon. An update to Android 4.2.2 is slated to be coming in the third quarter of 2013 according to a new insider source, so we can hopefully expect an update to these devices sometime between July and September.
It’s been three weeks since we’ve installed the beta of Android 4.2.2 on our Galaxy S3 and so far, we’ve liked what we’ve been seeing and if you’ve been sticking around AndroidPIT, you most likely have tried out some other ways to sneakily get a somewhat similar experience on your device. However, it was noted in a recent announcement that a delay was pending for the official release of the update pushing out an expected timeline of November. But a Samsung insider has now revealed through the ibtimes.com portal that the update is more specifically scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
The delay, which we reported on last week, was allegedly in connection to some more testing that Samsung wanted to do in regards to their latest version of Touchwiz and making sure that the update was bug free and seamless for S3 and Note 2 users. When the update does drop, users of the S3 and Note 2 can look forward to more of a Galaxy S4 experience.
