As some of our editors talk about the possibility of there being too much Google in Android 4.4, most users are still excitedly waiting for the OTA software update to come to their devices. Now it’s been confirmed by Motorola, that their new slightly lower specification-filled and super low-priced firestarter in the entry-level smartphone market, the Moto G, will be coming out post-Christmas with Andorid 4.4 right out of the box
4.4 right out of the box
The new Motorola device, which apparently outdoes the Samsung Galaxy S4 and is certainly better than the Apple iPhone 5s in the way of screen resolution, comes at an extremely low price and already has many fans. The smartphone has started shipping to the UK, Germany, Mexico, France and Brazil with Android 4.3. In the second official wave of sales in January, Americans will see the new device arriving to their stores and mobile providers with the KitKat Android operating system all ready to go. In confirming these facts, the Senior VP of Supply Chain & Operations for Motorola also stated that ‘overall, the device will be in more than 30 countries, with 60 carrier or channel partners’. With their update arriving to many phones around the world as well as this new mover & shaker in the smartphone world, it looks like Google really is just one step away from world domination.
As a US citizen, you’re going to have to weigh up whether buying a Moto X or a Moto G is more worth your while. The Moto X will be getting the KitKat update in a matter of weeks according to the CEO of Motorola Mobility two days ago.
