Samsung Galaxy S4 To Carry S Pen At Launch (Rumor)

We all know that Samsung is not going to stop their smartphone onslaught on the Android train with the Galaxy S3, as there were already whispers of the Samsung Galaxy S4 going around in recent memory. The thing is, the upcoming flagship device from Samsung is now riding on another crest of rumors, where the Galaxy S4 is said to arrive in April 2013 alongside S Pen functionality.

So far, what are some of the speculated specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S4 which has been bandied about? We are looking at a quad-core Exynos 5440 processor that relies on either 28nm high-K metal gate technology, or ARM BIG LITTLE architecture, while falling back on the A7 CPU that will work alongside a more beefy A15 unit when some heavy lifting on the processing front is required.

Of course, the Galaxy S4 has no business being a flagship smartphone for Samsung if it lacks a 5” Full HD AMOLED display, so that is what it will apparently be getting. Couple that with a 13-megapixel camera that is crammed into a 9.2mm thick body, one cannot help but wonder whether the slight increase in its waistline has anything to do with accommodating the S Pen.

Assuming all whispers of the Samsung Galaxy S4 with S Pen functionality turn out to be true, this would definitely place the Galaxy S4 a furlong in front of its competitors where productivity on-the-go is concerned. Still, only time will tell whether this rumor is true or not, so let us just play the patience card now, shall we?

I dont think S-pen is required........why unnecessarily turn your smartphone into a semi-phablet.....???

I love the idea of a S pen. My fingers are too large to allow me to pick out things on the S2...

I'm out of contract next December so hopefully the s4 may be around or a date formally coming out... Ain't repeateding the s2/s3 mistake . Like last year... But I so wanted to get rid of my iPhone desperately... Lol!

Also 4G or EE, hopefully the market may be a little more developed next year a d their own pricing model may have settled down a lot more...

    Thanks

    Benjurs

I have no doubt that the next Samsung Galaxy S will have to be @ least a 5" screen size on par with the HTC Droid DNA's ... & I truly feel we are reaching the frontier of the Phablet (smart phone / tablet) ...like 3G service? There will no longer be Smart Phones under 4.3" in screen size (it will be 4G lte, 5" screen, quad core processor minimum - or it will be considered obsolete for the consumer market) ....

I don't get this S pen style at the moment. Modern smartphones are built for finger operation. The stylus era was long time ago. I don't support this. 5 inch is also way to big for me, so huge phone era is also coming back. Weird.

This also means Galaxy S 2 / Galaxy S 3 from Samsung will probably be repurposed for the "No Contract" market with latest software updates ...
Now thats a WINNER for us "No Contract" Consumers ! :-)

Hopefully the US carriers will have more reasonable color choices for the S4 than they had for the S3. I never got the S3 because I prefer a black or silver phone. Blue and white are fine choices but I think a more standard choice should be among those. Verizon finally did come out with black but Verizon isn't my carrier.
