Features & Use

Test devices:
-Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4
-Acer Iconia A500 with 4.0.3 Custom ROM

Start up Sprinkle and select a level from the first chapter, watch an intro video, switch the music/sounds on/off and/or read up on the developers. You can also share or rate the game via the '+' on the right.

Check out the intro video to get a good idea about what the game is all about and how to play it. Here's a quick synopsis of the narrative and gameplay:
Galaxy tourists have landed on Saturn and by doing so managed to mix up Saturn's rings. As a result, burning rocks are crashing down on to the little blue men's planet, causing their cities to burn. They've built a fire engine with which they're hoping to put out the fires—and it's your job to help them.

Change the angle of the fire truck hose to aim at burning houses and try to put out fires.
Levels differ somewhat: the fires in some houses have to be put out through holes in the ground, in others blocks have to be washed away before the water can reach the fire... Sprinkle is a puzzle game, but one that's quite diversified thanks to it's six chapters and 72 levels.

Two factors make the game challenging: time, because if you take too long putting out a fire the house will burn down, and a finite amount of water with which to fight fires.
In order to activate the next level a certain amount of water drops are required.

Bottom line:

Sprinkle is fun to play, and it's the kind of game you can play for longer stretches of time as well as revisit regularly, thanks to the good variety and challenge factors.

The graphics are wonderful and really worth checking out.

Screen & Controls

Sprinkle really stands out graphically. Design-wise the game's physics are superb, especially everything related to water.

Controls are easy and smooth and players are guided into the gameplay and controls throughout the first few levels—a great way to learn how to play the game.

The game is tons of fun on a smartphone, and even more so on a tablet. This is where you can see just how awesome the graphics really are.

Speed & Stability

Sprinkle performs well in this category as it runs both smoothly and solidly. There's a brief loading time (about 10 seconds) when activating the game.

Price/Performance Ratio

Sprinkle is available from the Google Play Store for EUR 2.54 and there are 72 levels, so plenty of challenges to get through.

Sprinkle is our app of the week and so available for only EUR 0.79 from the AndroidPIT App Center.

I had a question about this game. I downloaded the demo from Google Play. There the developer was listed as Mediocre (Games). Here the developer (or the owner) is listed as Thumb start. When I went to the Thumbstar website they don't mention this game or Mediocre Games. When I go to the Mediocre website they don't mention Thumbstar. I really liked the demo and am going to get the game, but I want to make sure to send the money the right way. Can you enlighten me?

    Hi Michael,

You're quite right, it is all a bit confusing, I noticed that when I was re-editing this review of what is currently our app of the week.

I'm forwarding your comment to our tester Ludwig who wrote the original review for this, as well as to our Sales Team.

But in case you want to try out the game and benefit from our special deal, go ahead and download it following the link to our App Center as per usual, you can't go wrong that way. Also, if you don't like the game you can return in within 24 hours and get your money back.

    Enjoy!
