The Nexus 5 is ready in waiting and we know the specs

Kris Carlon

So that's where it's been all this time, hiding in the Great White North. We know the big reveal is only a matter of days away now, and if you believe some, hours, as there is a Google+ event scheduled for today, before we see the big announcement of the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 along with the Nexus 10 and possibly also the Gem smartwatch. There's not much else to know, but this is like seeing the presents under the tree on Christmas morning. I just wanna tear into those boxes and die in an ecstasy of geeky giddiness.

Pallets of Nexus 5's have appeared in a photo of an LG distribution warehouse in Canada and one of the shiny new boxes was plucked out to show off the retail packaging which looks just like the image we saw a little while ago. There's apparently 30,000 of the new Google flasgship spread across the country. The full specs of the new device are about as confirmed as it's possible to get now too, with a pre-registration page appearing on Wind Mobile's Facebook page in Canada. All the leaks and slips and ridiculously obvious publicity stunts and so on have painted a picture of the Nexus 5 so perfect there's nothing left to know, and Google has probably spent zero dollars so far on advertizing.

Just to ''confirm'' what we already know, here's the technical specifications pulled from the pre-registration page of Wind Mobile's Facebook page:

Are you happy with everything you've seen? What are your thoughts on the way the Nexus 5 has been systematically leaked to death?

I know, right? Google has spent zero bucks on all the marketing tech journos (like me) are doing for free! They haven't even admitted it exists yet and it's all everyone can talk about. For that at least I have to tip my hat to them: well played Google, well played.
