Many souls out there are thankful for smartphones and the hours of boredom that they can save while sitting in the bus, waiting in a Dr's office or ''patiently'' tagging along with a shopping girlfriend. One of many people's favorite kind of games to play are racing games. The concept, though it remains the same, is constantly being tweaked in different ways and you find yourself racing in different terrains with various trucks and cars. Here are the top free 5 racing games from the Google Play store. Take a look!
Fast & Furious 6: the Game
This movie series has managed to create an army of drooling fans who crave decked out cars. Fast & Furious 6 recently came out in theaters and grossed $98.5 million. It's no wonder that this app not only tops the charts of this list, but is also second in Google Play store's Top New Free apps. The point of the game is to earn cash and ''respect'' by being the fastest driver in drift and drag races. It's set in the streets of London and is made up of amazing graphics (we expected nothing less).
So far, there has been more than 1 million installations in the last 30 days. I really liked the fact that the cars offered in this game aren't just the newest ones. They also have some awesome classics to bring to the streets. This game keeps the player motivated through the various jobs/heists that the crew of drivers need to pull off. Get Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel in the mix, this game is golden.
Turbo Racing League
Take a step back from the dirty streets of London and a step forward into the world of Dreams Works' Turbo Racing League. From the same developers who made Into the Dead and Oreo: Twist, Lick, Dunk, they bring a game where you race a snail on wheels. Based off of the movie that will surely smash the box office when it hits theaters on July 17th, you can race through 9 tracks and compete in events like time trials, slalom and rival races. Like any other racing game, you get to pimp your ride and here, you can customize your shell's color and upgrade it too. Looks like there's a contest for real money too, which you can win by completing daily goals. This contest goes from May 16th to the movie's release on May 17th.
Dirt Road Trucker 3D
In the game, you don't race against others directly, however you can compare your performance with other players. The point of the game is to drive your old bucket of bolts stalked full of cargo through bouncy, rugged and obstacle-filled roads. You're able to steer your truck by either tilting your device, virtual steering wheel or on-screen touch pad. Dirt Road Trucker 3D has also racked up more than 1 million installations, which makes it one of the top new games. The different levels are set in various countries, which look like the USA, Vietnam and Thailand. Definitely a fun one to try.
Pocket Rally LITE
First off, a major hats off to the developers for realizing some awesome graphics (superb landscapes) that ''don'' the screens of smartphones all over the world. At only 25 MB, this game might not have all the bells and whistles like Fast and Furious 6, but Pocket Rally Lite offers plain old fun that is in line with the classic rally racing games that we all love. With 4 control modes and 3 camera angles, race through either challenge or single race modes and see how well you drove in replay mode. Want a no-fuss game? This could be the one for you.
Race Illegal: High Speed 3D
Like Fast and Furious 6, Race Illegal: High Speed 3D is a racing game that offers you a ''career'' as a street racer where you start off at the bottom of the barrel and work your way up. By winning against opponents and stalking up with dough, you'll be able to earn respect in over 20 races and with the choice of 9 different pimped out rides. Like many of this more ''realistic'' genre, you'll need to drive the cars with shifting up and down. You won't get through this game in a matter of hours, it will last you days and provide you with some great driving entertainment along the away.
Have you tried any of these racing games yet? If you have, which one did you like? Do you know of any others that could be added to the list?
