If there is one thing about smartphones in the US, it is the fact that unlocked models are extremely rare to come by as most of them are locked to a particular carrier. Well, if you so happen to be a subscriber of Verizon Wireless, and have longed to own the HTC One, the long wait is finally over. Verizon took to Twitter to officially announce that the HTC One will finally hit Verizon this summer.
To quote Verizon verbatim, “It’s coming – the HTC One will be available on the #Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network later this summer #HTCOne @HTCUSA”. When asked by another Twitter use as to whether the vanilla Android version will be made available with Verizon’s HTC One, it remains unknown as at press time, or the folks over at Verizon could very well be holding their cards close to their chest.
At least we have an official confirmation now, and to finally see it being made available across all four major carriers in the US should be a sigh of relief to HTC, as at the very least this would mean that HTC has equal footing with the Samsung Galaxy S4, although I do see that the Galaxy S4 will win in the long run. What do you think?
We also know that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean features for the HTC One have leaked out, so this is a smartphone with a future.
