HTC Evo Shift 4G Is Official, On Sale Jan. 9th

The HTC Evo Shift 4G has been seeing a lot of leaks in the past few weeks, from accessories to blurry photos to entries in databases. Today, Sprint finally made the phone official, and announced that it would be available starting January 9th for $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The Evo Shift 4G sports the following specs:

  • Android 2.2 with HTC Sense
  • Slide-out 4 row QWERTY keyboard
  • 3.6" WVGA touchscreen
  • Qualcomm MSM7630 800MHz processor
  • 2GB ROM, 512MB RAM
  • 5MP camera with single LED flash and 720p video capture
  • 1500mAh battery
  • 4G/3G connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, digital compass, 3.5mm audio jack
  • 2GB microSD included with support up to 32GB

The Evo Shift takes many design cues from the Evo, such as the layout and design of the buttons on the front. Interestingly, the Evo Shift 4G will be $50 less expensive than the HTC Evo 4G, which has been on the market for six months.

Shout out in the comments or forums what you like about the phone and whether you are considering purchasing the phone.

  • My carrier is Sprint, so this would be a good upgrade for me. The original evo is a little too big for my taste, I imagine it's screen alone would drain the battery. The battery that comemes with this phone is nice too. I wish the screen on this phone was just a little bit bigger, like 4" and the processor was dual core or at least faster than 800mhz. On second thought I think I'll wait for a better phone.
