Amazon Underground offers more than $10,000 apps, games and in-app items for free

Amazon has opened up a new section of its app store called Underground Apps which will offer thousands of dollars worth of normally paid-for content for free. The new Underground app section replaces Amazon's "Free App of the Day" service and is available right now for Android users. Find out how to get free apps with Amazon Underground below.

According to Amazon, the new Underground section will offer more than "ten thousand dollars in apps, games and in-app items". Amazon refers to these apps as actually free, by which it means free to download and with no in-app purchases.

Though Amazon is touting the service as an entirely new app, it is currently available through Amazon's dedicated Android app. To get access to Amazon Underground, go here on your Android phone and follow the instructions to get the very latest Amazon APK file. If you already have the Amazon app, just go to the apps section and you will find the Underground content.

Have you tried the Amazon Underground service yet? What do you think of it?

Downloaded this morning, now we'll have to play around with this and see what "actually free" means. But it does have Office Suite Professional 8 for free and in-app purchases are marked as free as well.
