In the shadow of yesterday's preview of the upcoming Android L release at Google I/O, was the arrival of Android 4.4.4 on the various Google Play edition devices: HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), Galaxy S4, Moto G and Sony Z Ultra. [Update: the LG GPad 8.3 GPe has now received the Android 4.4.4 update as well, as has the standard Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z1]

The Android 4.4.3. Whether the 4.4.4 code carried some other improvements with it or these cases are simply a matter of luck we do not yet know.

Unlike some previous rollouts the Motorola group of devices is still waiting for the Android 4.4.4 update, with the news that Android 4.4.3 would be dropped and the Moto G, Moto X and Moto E would simply leapfrog direct to Android 4.4.4. Despite the apparently minor changes in the latest version Motorola owners didn't beat the Nexus family or even the Google Play edition devices to the punch this time around.

Have you got the Android 4.4.4 update yet? Have you seen any other changes since 4.4.3?

I'd be very surprised if you didn't get the latest Android version as the device is still very new. As for Android L, who knows. There may be hardware prerequisites from Google's end that we don't know about yet so it's hard to say, but it should be out in the next few months and making its way to carrier devices early next year so keep your fingers crossed that LG puts the Exceed 2 on the update list.
