A few weeks after the release of Android 4.4.4 KitKat on the Nexus line of devices, we’re starting to get a bit more information on what the plans are for other manufacturers. Among them, the plans for the HTC rollout has been revealed and it definitely concerns their latest flagship, the HTC One (M8), the HTC One (M7), and other recent models from the company.
Right now, this is a rumored road map for the company and isn’t set in stone as HTC hasn’t officially released any information in regards to their Android 4.4.4 plans. However, they did come out and announce that Android L will be rolling out to the HTC One (M8) and One (M7) within 90 days of its release from Google.
|Android 4.4.4 + Sense 6.0|
|HTC One (M8)||July / August 2014|
|HTC One Mini 2||August / September 2014|
|HTC One (M7)||July / August 2014|
|HTC One E8||August / September 2014|
In regards to the release of Android L, all HTC models from 2013 and 2014 will be receiving the update, but their official status is still being evaluated by HTC. Even more-so, since the HTC One (M8) and One (M7) haven’t seen Android 4.4.3 rolled out to them yet, HTC will more than likely just skip ahead and go straight to Android 4.4.4 for them.
As well, you can most likely expect to see the HTC One Mini get some love in the next little while: reports are that Android 4.4.2 will be rolled out to this device shortly.
