Android 4.4 KitKat receives a new download interface

Authored by: Loie Favre — Oct 9, 2013

Yesterday Android Police were able to show us some screenshots which are likely to be the new Google Hangouts version 1.3. Today, from the same source, pics of the KitKat user interface have surfaced, which show a new download folder with a revised design and new functions. Android KitKat 4.4 so close to being announced, you can already start to smell the chocolate!

Android Police seem to have a lot of faith in their source. Up to this point, downloads were displayed in the style of Holo Dark. The right side of the picture shows Android 4.3 to compare.

The new elements that these new screenshots show are the brighter background with the Holo Light theme, the flat-looking design of the icons on the top left corner as well as a new action button with sorting functions, which, for the time being looks, like you will only be able to sort by size. There is also a new button for presentation settings.

Here we are still waiting for Andorid 4.4 KitKat to roll out, but little by little we see more of the elements to come and how systematically Google will integrate its new design. What do you think of the new, lighter look?

Loie Favre found her way to her present passion for Android and smartphone technology after experiencing an epiphany when she held her Galaxy Note 2. From that point onwards, you can find her with her nose buried in countless Android apps and different smartphone models, and thanking her lucky stars that she gets to work at something she loves.

Still not smelling the chocolate (lol). because I don't think Google is ready yet (once they unleash Kit Kat 4.4, as well as new Nexus products? It will be a healthy end of the year investment) :-)
