Zipwhip Invents World's First SMS-Enabled Espresso Machine

So you're at your desk when suddenly you feel like you're going to die of exhaustion. Espresso time! But who has the patience to wait for a machine to make you a cup of joe? Instead, why not simply text a machine called Textpresso? The machine will whip up a custom coffee and message you back when it's ready for drinking.

While the Textpresso machine isn't ready for mass production just yet, it's a pretty cool idea. ZipWhip has said that they'll be open-sourcing their code in the near future so that anyone can build their own and place it in their home or office. Check out the machine in action below:

The concept is more of a bid for publicity from Zipwhip, who's known for an application that allows users to send and receive text messages from their Android phones directly on their desktop computer or tablet. Here's an ad for Zipwhip:

I can picture it now...Sunday morning...lazing in bed...I pick up my smartphone...text my espresso order to the machine in the kitchen...I can hear the machine working...I can smell that wonderful coffee aroma...then a few minutes later, Scarlet Johansen brings my coffee to my bedside...

Hey, don't laugh, it *could* happen.
