App Wars: Candy Crush Saga vs Jewels - which is the better game?

Two app experts, two opinions: AndroidPIT's App Wars pits the opinions of two Editors against one another regarding one of today's more popular Android topics: apps. Today, Candy Crush Saga and Jewels go head-to-head in a 5 point ''app-off''.

''Match Three'' games have come a long way since the original 2001 PopCap game for browsers, Bejeweled, and its Russian forefather Shariki from 1988. Today everyone's talking about Candy Crush Saga and its countless doppelgangers, but in this inaugural App Wars we wanted to see which ''Match Three'' game is better, based on these editors' opinions: the one-year-old Candy Crush Saga or Jewels from 2008.

  • Good point Philipp! I added the App Center links into the article, and if you're after Jewels 2 you'll find it on the left had side under the ''More from this Developer'' heading on the Jewels page.

even with killed i-net Candy crush still has limited "lives" and then you have to wait and this is no fun...

Like Philip stated earlier, Candy Crush Saga has this social networking woven into it and ad pushing . Sure, you can turn off you data and see how it goes. I chose to get rid of it instead. Besides, I get a little nostalgic about these kind of games so jewels would be more the direction I would go.

well your comparison lets me think to try jewels (or rather jewels 2 since I know bejeweled, honestly I play bejeweled twist using drastic DS Emulator) out. i already had CCS but it was annoying with the social network integration and the need of getting lives (by waiting or spamming the timeline) to continue playng if failed too often, that's simply annoying.

but why not post app store links to jewles/jewls2/CCS? would make it easier to find...
