The Samsung Z is Samsung's first commercially available smartphone running on their proprietary operating system, Tizen (instead of Android). Availability was initially restricted to Russia in Q3 of 2014 with other markets following. The Samsung Z has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display and quad-core processor running at 2.3 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, giving it a relatively poor screen but otherwise impressive internal specifications for the time of its release. Apps are served through Samsung's Tizen app store.
