Hi, my german is not that good but...
I'm having the same problem.
My phone G2 Touch was update with the latest firmware from T-Mobile and I cannot root back.
I've tried the GoldCard method with no luck.
To which RUU original Firmware did you successfully downgrade?
And also, which brand of SDcard did you use?

So i'll try to help you:
(which brand of SD shouldn't be important)
I tried this goldcard method and it worked very well for me...
... you can downgrad to every version older than 2.73.405.x (NOT the 2.73.111.!) after you have one of these versions you can root it very easy by using the flashrec method;)
