Where does the AndroidPIT community come from?

I come from Indiana, USA, but I am currently living in Berlin, Germany. I was born in a town of about 45,000 amidst corn and soybean fields and I lived there for nearly all of my time till I moved to where I am now. I'm interested to see just how much of an international audience we are reaching currently. Feel free to share you country of residence/origin and any other details about yourself you feel are relevant.

I'm from south-eastern USA. Started programming games long ago on a 286 computer in basic. Started a personal website and learned java to put games and stuff on it, http://www.xdebugx.net. Then I made a few j2me games for mobiles. Now I'm trying my hand at android developement. Programming games has always been a hobby and personal enjoyment, hope to start my own game company one day.

Born in Hamburg/Germany i'm currently living in Vienna/Austria since 13 years for now.

As an it-professional and developer i'm interested in Android just from the beginning. Right now i'm about to try, convincing my company (Austrian Federal environment agency) to start providing mobile services based on Android.

I was born in Würzburg, Germany but grew up in a town close to Munich, Germany. I lived in the US for a while (Los Angeles). Now I live in Berlin, Germany. I simply love this place.

I must be a lot older than most!

I was born (at a very early age, many years ago) in south west Essex in the UK, in Ilford to be exact, where I lived for over twenty years before moving to Nottingham. I lived there for twenty two years before moving to Nashua, New Hampshire for five years, thence to Redford, a little township on the edge of Detroit, Michigan. From there I moved back to the UK, to the roundabout capital of the south, Basingstoke in Hampshire.

Currently getting used to a nice new Sony-Ericsson Xperia x10i

I was born in VA at a Naval Hospital to a career military family and married a career Navy Seabee and lived 4 years in Hawaii and 2 years in Australia as well as Idaho (home), NY, CA & other places. Started with a PC Jr on the 80's and have been hooked on technology ever since.

hahaha, you will not escape from snow in tenerife :grin: the teide is the highest mountain of spain with nealy 4000m. so there is also snow actually right now.
but im living on the neighbour island gc. but the climatic conditions are the best i know on whole earth. they called those islands also the place of neverending spring....

What an interesting biography, Stan! Never been to Australia, but would love to make it out there someday. Were you a volunteer firefighter during those terrible forest fires in Australia a while back? From what I saw on the news, it was frightening to say the least. I lived in Alaska for a while and we experience some pretty awful ones in the summer, so I can't imagine what it must have been like for you.

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I drive truck so I've been all over the u.s and Canada. I was without any type of mobile device for over 10 years.
I jumped right into a Samsung galaxy captivate. I am constantly amazed what these things can do. I love my phone!

Nice to meet you, Trent. Looks like you've traveled around a lot. There's nothing I love more than taking my car on a road trip of the states, but I've only driven through Canada a few times and that was to go to Vancouver B.C. My favorite road trip was from Seattle to San Diego along Highway 101.

I, too, am amazed by the flexibility and promise of these phones. Glad to have you with us here at AndroidPIT.

Nice to meet you dluhansa. I'm slightly embarrassed to say that my only experience with Indonesia is reading the Lonely Planet guide to the country on many occasions and imagining what it would be like to live there. Glad to have you here!
