I just received my google voice invitation and i must say it is amazing. I highly suggest you all request an invitation from Google. Even though it took me about 2 months to get the invitation code it was well worth the wait. So i just wanted to share that with you guys. And be careful when buying invitation codes online. There's a lot of fakes out there but that pretty much goes for anything you buy online. Be safe and Be aware.

What do you like most about it, or: why should we download it? It allows for voice over the data network I'm assuming. Can it also work only over Wi-Fi?

Go to www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html to learn more. It's like visual voicemail but better. Voicemail transcription so you can read voice mail like an email etc. Notifies you via email and or text msg if you like.. the whole voicemail. You can set up a different greeting per contact.. or per group of contacts.
