HTC Sensation — Screen Icons change to generic without warning

After installing apps and putting the widget on the home screen, the custom widget turns to the generic green and white oval all of a sudden. What am I doing wrong??

first: welcome to AndroidPIT!

Did you install the effected Apps on SD-Card? This could be on possible reason.

Yes. I didn't realize that was a side effect of installing apps on the SD card. Do you think it's a bug that will be fixed or a permanent condition?

unlikely. After you wake up your phone, the SD-Card needs some time to strat too. That´s why the icons isn´t avaiable. Especially Widgets, or apps with widgets should never be stored on SD.

Right on target. Interestingly, I only had to change a couple of apps back to phone memory and all the icons corrected themselves. Thanks for the tip.
